Peer evaluation

The contributions published in the journal must undergo not less than two reviews and are classified into one of the following categories: original scientific paper, preliminary communication, review article and professional paper. The category of a particular work is determined by the editor, assisted by two reviewers. The category is specified in the paper’s header. The manuscripts that do not meet the standards of the Editorial Board and that lack some illustrations will be sent back to their authors for modification. At the author’s request, the original manuscripts will be returned to the author. The rejected manuscripts (those that do not meet the criteria) will be returned to their authors with an explanation.

The authors can withdraw their papers from the reviewing process with an appropriate written explanation sent to the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board reserves the right to withdraw a paper from the reviewing process in case of a breach of professional ethical standards or in case of doubt that such a breach has taken place. The Editorial Board selects the reviewers for a particular paper. After the reviewing process, if necessary, a paper will be sent back to its author for modifications required by the reviewers. After the author has sent the paper back, the Editorial Board will establish if the paper has been modified in accordance with the reviewers’ comments. The journal’s Editorial Board supports an objective and just anonymous review process (so-called double-blind review) in order to avoid any dispute. In case of doubt that these rules have not been followed, the Editorial Board shall immediately take action that the dispute be resolved.
